SALSA CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts 4 tbsp taco seasoning (click through for our homemade seasoning blend!) 1 cup salsa, mild or hot 1 4-oz can chopped green chiles, optional ¼ c chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste lime wedges, to taste

STEP 1

Arrange chicken in an even layer in the slow cooker. Sprinkle all over with taco seasoning.

Pour salsa and canned green chiles over the chicken.

Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, or low for 5-6 hours, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds.

Remove the chicken and shred.

Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker. Add fresh chopped cilantro and toss with the cooking juices.
