BAKED BRIE EN CROUTE

with fig jam & pecans

INGREDIENTS

8 oz brie wheel ¼ c fig jam, we like Bonne Maman 2 tbsp pecans, chopped 1 sheet puff pastry, at room temperature 1 large egg, whisked 1 tbsp coarse sugar For Serving crostini apple slices crackers or crisp breads grape

⭐️ it looks fancy, but it's super easy! ⭐️ use store-bought ingredients - fig jam and puff pastry - for quick prep ⭐️ partially prep up to 48 hours in advance

STEP 1

Set out puff pastry to thaw. Meanwhile, top the brie wheel with fig jam and chopped pecans.

STEP 2

Roll out thawed puff pastry between two sheets of parchment paper into a 10″ x 10″ square. Center brie wheel on top of the puff pastry.

Fold in the edges, one after the other, to wrap the brie wheel in the pastry.

STEP 4

Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet. Whisk the egg, then use a pastry brush to coat all of the exposed puff pastry. This will help it get extra golden brown and crispy.

Sprinkle the exterior with the coarse sugar.

Bake at 400°F for 35-40 minutes, or until the pastry is deeply golden brown.

Rest five minutes, then slice open and serve with crackers, crisp breads, apple slices, and grapes.
