BERRY COMPOTE

⭐️ 1 lb berries, fresh or frozen ⭐️ ¼ c sugar, or 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup ⭐️ 3 tbsp water ⭐️ 1 tsp lemon juice ⭐️ ½ tsp vanilla extract ⭐️ 1 lemon peel, optional, but helps with thickening

INGREDIENTS

Use any berries you love! Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.

Combine berries, sugar, water, vanilla, lemon juice, and lemon peel. Stir.

Heat liquid until just bubbling. Adjust heat to maintain a steady simmer.

Simmer and stir 12-14 minutes - until berries fall apart and sauce thickens.
